Trader Joe’s Mini Pumpkin Pies ~ Awesomely good!

Trader Joe's Mini Pumpkin Pies

Trader Joe’s Mini Pumpkin Pies

Straight from your freezer to the oven to MY mouth! Completely, melt in your mouth good. I just popped these into our little Breville Toaster Oven(which is the BOMB too!)..and my lil’ family just devoured this package.  They are soo good! They get nice, toasty AND with a good crunch.  I know, there is just never anything bad from TJ’s and it’s another dessert for you guys to try out.  Seriously, I am buying up like 10 of these packages and baking them on Thanksgiving Day.  I like little desserts and these are perfect to serve with coffee after dinner … no pie slicing for me(lazy butt, I know!)  And, the price as usual is crazy good!

Here is more info.

“Traditional pumpkin pie is big and can serve a good number of people. Trader Joe’s Mini Pumpkin Pies are small and are each intended to be a single serving. Traditional pumpkin pie has a bottom crust only; these Minis have a top and bottom crust, making them an entirely different eating experience. Nestled within the top and bottom crusts is a smooth, rich, creamy pumpkin pie filling, made from pumpkins grown in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and replete with all the requisite spices. The top crust is sprinkled with sugar, and a star-shaped portion of the dough has been cut out, exposing the creamy filling and making the pies as cute as they are craveable.

You can heat them or simply let them thaw – we prefer them heated, but the choice is yours. How to eat them? So many options. Hold a Trader Joe’s Mini Pumpkin Pie in your hand, or practice more civilized pie consumption via the use of a plate and the utensils of your choice. Top with a mini dollop of whipped cream. Or turn pie à la mode upside down – start with a big bowl of ice cream and top it off with a Mini Pumpkin Pie! We’re selling each nine ounce box of six for $3.99, the same price we’ve had since we introduced these back in 2013. You’ll find them in our freezers.”

Buy them up before I do 🙂

Uberly Fantastic – Trader Joe’s Salted Caramel Bread Pudding…

Scrumdiliumcious..Head on over to Trader Joe’s and get yourself some of this Superb Salted Caramel Bread Pudding. Just the thought of this is making my mouth water again…I wait all year for their Pumpkin Bread Pudding, but this just might top that!!  It’s a MUST have dessert and was so perfect for this cool August night…

Trader Joe’s Description:

“Trader Joe’s Salted Caramel Bread Pudding is the successor to our successful Pumpkin Bread Pudding that makes its appearance only in the autumn months. Made by the same skilled bakers, Salted Caramel Bread Pudding starts with freshly baked bread that’s roughly diced and mixed with a vanilla bean custard. A ribbon of dulce de leche caramel is folded in, and the entire concoction is topped with crystalline sugar before baking and freezing. When you heat it at home, you get a slightly crunchy top layer, and soft, custardy, caramely inside. As we said; indulgent treat. Make it even more indulgent with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream, or a dollop of crème fraîche. What’s not indulgent is our price of $3.99 for each 18 ounce package. You’ll find it in our freezers.”

I just might have to mosey back over to TJ’s again this week and get some more..Yum!! And, I cannot wait until they start stocking up on all their delicious Autumn concoctions. I look forward to Trader Joe’s in the Fall like Starbucks and everything else that is so perfect in this season!!

Go, Go to TJ’s like STAT 🙂

New York Style Pizza – Amnon’s Kosher Pizza at your nearest Costco = slice of Heaven!

You know what inevitably shows up after the Holidays…1) Cold as get out weather 2) an unexpected bill… Yes, this is January for me EVERY year~ Does anyone else get why I hate January?!?  Well…a lil pizza just made it better!…

The kitchen sink here is literally down…we had a plumber come out and it’s gonna cost us major bucks to repair the broken pipe under the concrete in the basement(which should be done tomorrow).  Well, the only bright side to that is that this Mom is NOT cooking because I do not like washing a whole slew of pots and pans in the laundry sink… And, with school being out and kid’s home due to subzero temps..what am I gonna do?? Costco to the rescue!

This little baby – Amnon’s Kosher pizza from Costco(frozen by the slice, which is PERFECT) hit my little Breville Toaster oven and I am in LOVE… I haven’t had such good NY pizza since ummm..New York!!  This is heaven people.  I wish I had a price for you to post right now (it’s been in my freezer awhile), but apparently they sell these frozen on their website(which happens to be down right now)..Check them out. They are from Brooklyn and I am telling you, if you like NY style – this is the real deal!

Happy New Year 2015 ~ Perfect side dish ~ Gordon Ramsay’s Turmeric and Chilli Roasted Potatoes

Happy New Year One and All! I hope everyone has celebrated the New Year with health, love and happiness.  A year of new beginnings and hopefully one that brings you the joy you deserve.

I wanted to post my favorite side dish for any meal.  It is from Gordon Ramsay’s Christmas special..but I make these spuds all the time. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any meat..I’ve paired it with Standing Rib Roast, Turkey(prefer Bobby Flay’s Glazed recipe), and My Famous Meatloaf among many.

Gordon Ramsay’s Turmeric and Chilli Roasted Potatoes Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 lbs potatoes
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1½ tsp ground turmeric
  • pinch of chilli flakes, to taste
  • 4–5 tbsp olive oil (or goose or duck fat)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400F. Peel the potatoes, quarter lengthways and place in a large saucepan of salted cold water. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 8 minutes.

Drain the potatoes in a colander and sprinkle with the turmeric, chilli flakes and some salt and pepper. Toss in the colander to coat evenly, then drizzle with a little of the olive oil and toss again. Leave to steam for 5 minutes.

Put the rest of the olive oil in a roasting tray and place in the oven for a few minutes to heat up. Carefully add the potatoes and toss to coat in the oil. Roast for 40-45 minutes, turning a few times, until crisp and golden. Drain on kitchen paper and transfer to a warmed dish to serve.

Enjoy peeps and don’t forget your favorite Vintage…
